Volunteers Needed

An urgent call went out for volunteers to help again with Mary's Place, a weekday program where homeless women and their children can build community, enrich their days and find resources to restore their lives.

Volunteers are needed from Tuesday, January 31 through Tuesday, February 7. All those who are available to help out should contact Beacon UMC Mission coordinators ASAP at mission@beacon-umc.org, or see either Shielah Sabalza-Ly or Akiko Nawata. The Mary's Place community will be staying at Madrona Presbyterian Church (Marion St. & 32nd Ave on Capitol Hill) during that time.

Similar ministry efforts were coordinated last November when Beacon UMC was blessed with the opportunity to provide a full week of overnight accomodations for the women and children of Mary's Place. More plans are in store for 2012, so stay tuned!
